I saw your post on the Leadville list about Steve. I'm praying for quick recovery. The band on my RoadID is pretty much worn out. I misplaced it a couple weeks ago and I almost feel naked riding without it. Not quite as bad as riding without my helmet but it still bothers me not to have it on.

I posted on my blog about a close call I had last Saturday when I was riding near Grand Junction. Someone threw a part bottle of Pepsi at me and they were probably doing around 60 mph. I actually had someone hit me that way a couple years ago from a vehicle that was probably doing 50 mph. I think it would have been a serious injury if it hadn't hit my helmet. Some people are plain mean and others I don't think realize what could happen.

In Denmark where I pastor we ride our bikes everywhere and there are good bicycle paths seperate from regular traffic along most roads. It saves fossil fuel too... and we get excersise just getting to work, which is why we are leaner than Americans.

If you want a safe place to ride a bike, come to Denmark and plant a church. Our church will even sponsor a bike for you :-)

This is a spiritually dry place, we need all the radical riders we can get ! Read more at www.prayfordenmark.com

Photos from my May 2005 trip to South Africa and Zambia. Tri-Lakes has been deeply involved in Zambia for three years now. These were taken as we went out to visit some of the congregations that have begun as a result of our humanitarian work in 2002-04.
