Last night, Melody graduated with the class of 2007 from Lewis-Palmer High School. There were almost 500 kids, and the ceremony went surprisingly quick and smooth. I've wondered for a while how I would handle the emotions of this day. The answer? Surprisingly well. Melody is a mature, capable, trustworthy young woman. Watching her last night, she was radiant with joy. Which made me joyful. It may be different in August when we take her to William Jewell College, but for now, I'm feeling content and confident in her future, and not grieving my own loss--yet.
